Autism Spectrum Disorder and Transitioning to School

Students starting school with Autism Spectrum disorder getting ABA Therapy from Autism Support Now

Starting school can be challenging for all children, but particularly for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The unique social, communication and behavioral difficulties that children with ASD experience may present additional barriers to a positive start to school. However, Autism Support Now has a track record of successfully preparing children and families for school transitions. For example, in August 2024, a large proportion of children with autism enrolled at our St. Louis and Kansas City clinics graduated our program and transitioned to school.

How Does Autism Support Now Prepare Children for School?

At Autism Support Now, we specialize in early intervention because research shows if we intervene early-on, we can make a significant difference in the lives of children with autism. WE  are committed and dedicated to your child’s care, utilizing evidence-based applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to help children with ASD increase communication, develop independence, and learn important life skills. In addition, WE provide parents/caregivers and schools with the education and resources necessary to support school transitions. Here is a testimonial from a parent whose child recently graduated from our program and successfully transitioned to school.
